Support email

support@holyroot.app

Written by a human, usually answered within one business day. Reports of objectionable content are reviewed within 24 hours.

So the first reply can actually solve it, please include:

  • 1The email address on your account, the one you signed in with.
  • 2Your device and app: iPhone, Android, or holyroot.app in a browser.
  • 3What you expected to happen, and what happened instead. A screenshot helps more than anything else.
Billing

Subscription, trial and cancellation

Holy Root access is Holy Root Premium, an auto-renewing subscription. Both plans unlock exactly the same app; the only difference is how often you are billed.

AnnualSave 46%
$44.99/year
$3.75/month, renews every year until canceled
Monthly
$6.99/month
$6.99/month, renews every month until canceled

Prices shown are US dollars. Your store charges its own storefront price in local currency, including tax, and that is the amount confirmed to you before you buy.

The free trial

New subscribers start with a free trial where the store offers one. Apple grants an introductory offer once per Apple ID per subscription group (Google Play works the same way), so if you've subscribed before you may not be eligible. The app asks the store and shows you the real terms before you confirm. The trial becomes a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.

Cancel or change your plan

Subscriptions are billed by the store, not by us, so cancellation happens in your device account settings. We cannot cancel one for you.

Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account at confirmation. Subscription automatically renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your device account settings. Canceling stops the next renewal; access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for.

Restore a purchase

New phone, or reinstalled the app? Open the paywall and tap Restore Purchases. Web access unlocks automatically once you sign in to holyroot.app with the same account you used on mobile. If it stays locked, email us and we'll re-sync your entitlement by hand.

Refunds

Refunds are issued by the store that took the payment. On iOS, request one at reportaproblem.apple.com; on Android, through your Google Play order history. Tell us as well and we'll support the request where we can.

Safety

Report content or block someone

A circle is a private group: a church, a study group, or a few friends. Members can share individual notes with it. Circles are never public: non-members cannot read a single shared note, and joining needs an invite code or a leader's approval.

If something shared in a circle is abusive, hateful, sexual, threatening, spam, or otherwise doesn't belong, you can act on it yourself, from the app, straight away.

Report a note
  • 1Open the circle and find the note in its feed.
  • 2Tap ··· beside it, then Report this note.
  • 3Pick a reason, add anything we should know, and send.

Reports reach us immediately and are reviewed within 24 hours. We remove content that breaks the conduct rules and can suspend or remove the account that shared it. Reports are private. The person who shared the note is never told who reported them.

Block a person

From the same ··· menu, choose Block this person. Their notes disappear from your feed in every circle you share with them, now and in future. They are not told, and they keep their place in the circle.

Blocking is never a one-way door: everyone you've blocked is listed under Blocked people on the You tab, and one tap there undoes it. You can also unblock a member from a circle's member list.

Prefer to talk to a person, or need something removed urgently? Email support@holyroot.app with the circle name and what was shared. Same 24-hour review.

  • What isn't allowed: harassment or bullying, hate speech, sexual content, violence or threats, and spam or scams. The full rules are in our Terms of Use.
  • Leaving a circle: open the circle from the Circle tab and leave at any time. Notes you shared there stop being visible to its members.
  • Emergencies: if someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first, then tell us.
Your data

Account and data deletion

You can delete your account, and everything in it, from inside the app. No email required.

  • 1Open the You tab (the last tab), on iPhone, Android, or holyroot.app.
  • 2Scroll to Danger zone and tap Delete account.
  • 3Confirm. It is immediate and cannot be undone.

Deletion permanently removes your profile, every verse and note you've saved, your reflections, and your circle memberships and shared notes. If you can't sign in, email support@holyroot.app from the address on the account and we'll delete it for you.

Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. The store holds that. Cancel it separately in your device account settings. For a copy of your data, or any other privacy request, email support@holyroot.app.

Troubleshooting

Common questions

I can't sign in.
Holy Root supports Apple, Google, Facebook and X sign-in alongside email and password. Each is a separate account: if you first signed up with Google, signing in with email and the same address creates a new, empty account. Use the provider you started with. Forgotten password? Use Reset password on the sign-in screen; the link is valid for one hour and lands you back on holyroot.app.
My verses aren't syncing between phone and web.
Everything is stored against your account, so check you're signed in with the same provider on both. Notes captured offline stay on the device until it reconnects. Reopen the app on a connection and give it a moment before assuming one is lost.
A passage showed up in a different translation.
Passage text is licensed per translation, and we can only serve the ones our Bible licence covers. When your preferred translation isn't available, the app serves its default and labels it as such under the passage. It never relabels text as a translation it isn't. Changing your preference doesn't rewrite verses you already saved.
Is the study insight scripture?
No. Scripture text comes from our licensed Bible provider. Insight and historical context are generated by an AI model and labelled in the app wherever they appear. Treat them as study notes: helpful, sometimes wrong, never authoritative.
The microphone isn't working.
Capture needs microphone permission: iOS Settings → Holy Root → Microphone, or Android Settings → Apps → Holy Root → Permissions. Speaking a reference (“John 3:16”) fills the reference field; describing a verse you half-remember (“the one about eagles' wings”) offers suggestions under the field instead.
Are my reflections private?
Yes. Reflections are encrypted, and nothing you write is visible to anyone else unless you deliberately share that note with a circle. See the Privacy Policy for what we store and who processes it.
